Galderma Improves the Security Complexion of Its Landscape with SAP Netweaver® Identity Management

Switzerland-based Galderma, a specialty pharmaceutical provider of dermatology products, has seen marked improvements in the security and administration of its HR applications thanks to software from SAP AG (NYSE: SAP). Galderma’s implementation of the SAP NetWeaver® Identity Management (SAP NetWeaver ID Management) component has replaced former manual operations with a centralized platform that has streamlined process of security access for users, which now takes hours instead of days.
Galderma employees in 31 countries use SAP NetWeaver ID Management to gain rapid, access to HR applications. The software effectively consolidates employee identity data from Active Directory and SAP Portal sources and automates access authorization for users. HR controls are now consistent and compliant across Galderma’s HR landscape, while self-service functionalities have made employees more self-reliant, freeing up resources dedicated to the company’s HR help desk and support staff.
“SAP NetWeaver Identity Management improves efficiency for both HR users and IT professionals,” said Bénédicte Mombereau, SAP project leader, Galderma. “It significantly reduces the cost of managing staff entitlements to access and shortens the time it takes our users to become productive. We anticipate a significant and rapid return on our investment.”
Companies are showing significant interest in the SAP NetWeaver ID Management component, with more than 300 customers across multiple industries implementing role-based identity management. Along with process integration, business process management, master data management and life-cycle management, identity management is one of the key capabilities that enables the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform to support the orchestration of applications, information and people, enabling customers and partners to easily build applications on premise, on demand or on device.
