Telenor has won a contract to serve Statoil as the main provider of communications services to their 20,000 employees. The contract, worth approximately NOK 400 million, will run over four years.
“We are very excited to be part of the continuing value creation in Norway’s largest company. It is important for us to help Statoil solve large and complex tasks, which increasingly require good communications solutions. The partnership will also provide Telenor with valuable experience, which will help make us an even better provider,” says Berit Svendsen, CEO of Telenor Norway.
The agreement covers mobile, fixed and IP telephony, mobile broadband, mobile business networks, SMS solutions and functionality for Statoil. In addition, Telenor already supplies Nordic Connect IP-VPN, leased lines and wireless zone to Statoil.
Through the agreement Statoil will also have access to a 24-hour customer service, dedicated customer teams and local service through Telenor’s nationwide dealer network and self-service portal giving a complete overview of the entire customer relationship.
Long history
Telenor has been Statoil’s main provider of telecommunications services for decades.
“Statoil is one of our most important customers, and we are very pleased to be given the opportunity to continue our good partnership. During these years Statoil has been a strong driving force in adopting new communications technologies and has challenged us in the development of new services.
Telecommunications is increasingly about collaboration and efficient work processes and the solutions Statoil now uses support these needs,” says Abraham Foss, head of the corporate market at Telenor Norway.
Companies like Statoil and Telenor, with large international operations, create new challenges with respect to efficient use of expertise and resources.
“As a consultant and provider of mobile, administrative and security solutions, we look forward to help facilitating good interactive solutions,” says Foss.
